Nobody has walked Corbett Park and written it up, and there is no list of what is there. What this page can tell you honestly is where it is and who looks after it. The rest is waiting on a visit.
Corbett Park is the largest park in the Village of Brockport, at 9.7 acres, on the southwest corner of Smith Street and Clark Street. The village named it in 1975 for John and Patrick Corbett, who once owned much of the land around Smith Street. The Corbett family cut ice from the pond in winter and stored it in an ice house. After refrigeration came along, people used the pond for ice skating instead. BISCO helped build a large play area, and Eagle Scouts built an open pavilion with eight picnic tables. The park also has three tennis courts, a basketball area, and more picnic tables and grills. A paved path winds past the pond toward open space along the Erie Canal.
