Bushnell's Basin Docks

Bushnell’s Basin Docks is a one-acre public boat dock area on the Erie Canal. It is off Pittsford-Victor Road (Route 96) in the southwest part of Perinton. The town says it is not a traditional park. Boaters can tie up for a short stay or overnight. A building has restrooms and showers, and there are water fountains and picnic tables. You can fish from the canal side and walk the nearby trails. The area was a boatyard, warehouse district and trade center in the early 1800s. Today the hamlet around the docks has local shops and restaurants. The Town of Perinton Recreation and Parks Department runs the docks. For canal rules and lock hours, see the New York State Canal System.
