Shadow Pines Property

Shadow Pines is about 212 acres of town land along Clark Road, Whalen Road and Atlantic Avenue. The town bought it in 2018. It was once the Shadow Pines Golf Club. A disc golf course opened in September 2022. A recreation area opened on October 8, 2024, at the northeast corner of the property. It has pickleball courts, two inclusive playgrounds, a picnic area, an open-air pavilion, walking trails and restrooms, with parking off Whalen Road. These are first come, first served, and open all year, weather permitting. You can rent the open-air pavilion from May 1 to October 30 through the Penfield Recreation Department’s online system, or call (585) 340-8655. It seats 80. The fee is $65 for residents and $105 for non-residents. The town is studying mountain biking and hiking trails on the south side of the property. Penfield parks are open 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
