Schiller Park

What we know 0 of 3

Nobody has walked Schiller Park and written it up, and there is no list of what is there. What this page can tell you honestly is where it is and who looks after it. The rest is waiting on a visit.

Schiller Park was first called Franklin Square when the City of Rochester acquired it as part of a subdivision. The Olmsted firm designed the park in 1893 and 1894. In 1964, construction of the Inner Loop destroyed the park’s north half and cut its size in half. That same year, workers moved a sculpture of German poet Friedrich von Schiller here from Anderson Park, and the park took his name. Today the park has benches and a picnic table.
