Hundred Acres Nature Park
Nobody has walked Hundred Acres Nature Park and written it up, and there is no list of what is there. What this page can tell you honestly is where it is and who looks after it. The rest is waiting on a visit.
Hundred Acres Nature Park sits on Route 251 in Rush, along a mile of the Genesee River. Farmers once worked much of this land. The Town of Rush received the 100-acre property in 2010. The Rush Recreation and Park Association cares for it now. About half the park is old forest that has stood since the 1930s, with beech and maple trees and a large vernal pool. The other half was farmland, and volunteers are turning it back into habitat with native trees and plants. Trails follow the river, and you can spot bald eagles, woodpeckers, and orioles.
