Barnard Park

What we know 0 of 3

Nobody has walked Barnard Park and written it up, and there is no list of what is there. What this page can tell you honestly is where it is and who looks after it. The rest is waiting on a visit.

Barnard Park began in 1937. That year the Barnard Exempt Fireman’s Association bought a 16-acre tract on Maiden Lane. The group wanted to build a clubhouse and make it “the finest town small park in the state.” They laid out a baseball diamond. They set up picnic tables, benches, and fireplaces for cookouts. The park and its clubhouse have hosted thousands of events over the years. The park also has a shelter with picnic tables, a playground, and a grill.
