Turning Point Park

Turning Point Park sits in the Charlotte neighborhood on Rochester’s northwest side, near Lake Ontario. It covers 275 wooded acres along the Genesee River. Trails lead through an oak forest called Bullock’s Woods and along cattail-lined riverbanks. You can watch wildlife and take in river views from the trails. The park’s boardwalk and trail won an American Public Works Association award in 2008. One stretch of trail follows an old railroad bed from the top of the bank down to the river’s edge. A bridge crosses the Genesee River Turning Basin. A newer trail runs through Turning Point Park North, next to the Genesee Marina. From here, trails connect to the Genesee Riverway Trail, reaching Ontario Beach Park to the north or downtown Rochester to the south.
