Lower Falls Park is just downriver from High Falls, in the Genesee River gorge. It has waterfalls, steep cliffs, marshes, wetlands, bridges, and tall trees. The park was included in Frederick Law Olmsted’s 1893 plan for Seneca Park. A walking and biking path runs along the gorge, with views of the river, the falls, and the Driving Park Bridge. The park also has a sculpture installation. Trails link the park to Maplewood Park, the Genesee Riverway Trail, Seneca Park, Turning Point Park, and Seth Green Fishing Access. The city runs guided walks in the gorge each year, including one during the Maplewood Rose Celebration.
