Exchange Playground

Exchange Playground sits on Exchange Street in the Plymouth-Exchange neighborhood. The park sits on the old bed of the Genesee Valley Canal, which closed in 1878. After that, the site carried tracks of the Genesee Valley Canal Railroad until that railway closed too, in 1963. The city built the current park in the 1970s. In 2015 a master plan for the park was finished. The Community Design Center of Rochester funded it with a grant, and the plan drew on input from the PLEX neighborhood group.
